Food-  France is known for it Wine, cheese, and pastries.  Because of the many different mixes of people many items are available in France that are of other cultural origin.  You only have to ask or look to find what you want in France.  French fries are not on most menus as the name might imply.  French food is a delightful culinary experience that you will most likely enjoy.

History-   The French are a mix of Bretons, Flemings, Normans, Alsatians, Savoyards, Provencaux, Basques and Corsicans. Some still maintain customs and traditions but local languages are seldom spoken.  In spite of this mix there is very little racism and a strong national identity.  40% of the population is for foreign origin with a large Jewish community of over 700,000.  Rising unemployment has created some resentment especially to the immigrants from North Africa.  The Catholic church once dominated France but liberalism has prevailed with the legalization of abortion the birth control and common law marriages.

Tours-  France is one of the leading tourist destinations, especially for the English, Germans, and Japanese.  The majority of French people taking vacations spend their money in their own country rather than traveling abroad!  Paris is one of the most visited European cities.  Attractions include the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame cathedral, the Pompidou and the Louvre museum.  The Cote d'Azure was the birthplace of fashionable resorts at the end of the 1800's.  Places like Nice and Menton were destination areas for many of the upper class in Europe.  In 1992, Disney opened east of Paris.  It has not  proved to be the attraction that most go to France to see.  Tourism and tours outside of Paris are mainly in the south, and include camping and tour packages.   Contact us to add your tour company here!

Travel- This country is best seen by private auto!
